My life is about balance. I like to create for myself an equilibrium of musical, artistic, athletic and academic pursuits. For me, singing, playing music, and painting are outlets, temporary breaks from self-awareness and consciousness. They are pure liberty. Yet out of free-streaming, unplanned chaotic expression somehow arrives order and composition– I suppose even my unconscious song must be guided to a certain extent if it’s too be successful in any world outside of my mind. In painting and in music, colour, texture and depth are important to me.

Personal expression is important in our fast-paced culture. I don’t mean for the purposes of setting oneself apart and standing out compared to other people, but for remaining in touch with oneself, and for understanding oneself and not losing sight of how beautiful life is…how beautiful we all are. Everybody has gifts and wonders to offer and share. Creating helps me to slow down and remember just how amazing it is to be alive.
